Board and Lodgings

Host families provide full board and lodgings for au pairs. Accommodation will be advised if applicable for work placements.

Tax and Insurance (Au pairs)

Does not apply for au pair programme unless raised above the limit (currently stated by the Inland Revenue) at which it becomes payable.

Visas

Applicable for some overseas candidates depending on which countries they are from.

Holidays

3 weeks paid holiday per annum (or pro rata for time stayed after initial 3 month period)

Allowance (Au Pairs)

We suggest 2 categories of pocket money dependant on number of hours worked by au pair or indeed type of work they carry out for host family.

25 – 30 Hours £55/£60

30 – 35 Hours £65/70

This is the average pay for au pairs in the UK at the moment but they may vary from country to country.

Termination of working arrangement (applicable to au pairs).

Both sides have the right to terminate the arrangement after a suitable period of notice. The arrangement may be terminated without notice only if there is gross misconduct.

In most cases, however, both sides will agree to wait until the student has found another appropriate placement or respectively until the family can engage a replacement. The agency cannot be held responsible should the student stay for a shorter time than originally agreed with the client.

Work Placements termination of employment: - There will be a period of notice within their contract of Employment.

References

Although this agency does itself take up references, the employer should still requires these when interviewing the applicants. When the placement/host family are abroad, all written references will be provided. Whilst the agency makes every reasonable effort to verify the integrity and suitability of the placement/host family, the agency cannot be held liable for the non-arrival of, or any negligent, dishonest or malicious acts, or falsification of any information in the application by the placement or host family.

Our agency ‘Language and Leisure. co.uk’ will carry out this service for you.

Fees

Language and Leisure.co.uk reserve the right to charge an administration fee for the repetitive offering of applicants.
